George Chaplin (American b.1931). Red Ascent, 1999. Oil on canvas measures 68 x 81 inches; 70 x 83 inches in wood float frame. Signed, title and dated en verso. Excellent condition with no damage or restoration. This is an outstanding, exceptionally large example of Chaplin’s color-field painting.
